Taiwan

I come to tell you stoly, I too, am Chinese
I am flom "Beautiful Island." I am Taiwanese.

A "Festival" we celeblate. Is vely special, vely gleat.
The little shops and big ones too --
We close them up -- all business through.

For two days, thlee days, five or four
We take the key -- and lock the door.

The woman clean so good and fine
With many foods we feast and dine.

We thlow away the old and worn
Old year is gone -- a new reborn
Our children small and old ones too
Must thlow away the old for new.

We visit people -- everywhere
Honor elders -- show we care.

Then we put money in red letter
Give to childlen, make them better
The money buys file clackers blight
Add to evelyone's delight!

Then Dragon dance is biggest time
He glows with jewels -- tinsel shine
The world is new -- has had rebirth
Dragon symbol -- of good earth!

The waves of ocean roll on shore
Like hungry dragon -- hunting more
The rolling hills are like his back
Green rivers twist along his track.

Then from his yawning mouth he chokes
Shoots out file clacker -- spits and smokes
Like roaring earthquake he explodes
Like gleat volcano that erodes.

Yet dragon too can quiet be
He can be tamed and peaceful be
This is most fun time of year
For the hard-worked people here.

I want to tell you -- this the way
We flom "Beautiful Island" say
"Happy Lunar New Year!"
