If I could make a Christmas wish and have it all come true,
Do you know what that wish would be, I'd make for me and you?
I'd wish for gifts that can't be bought, we can't find in a store
That thoughtfulness and caring throughout our homes would pour.
That we'd trade that heavy burden of wondering how to pay
For laughter and for peacefulness upon our Christmas day!
More time to blend in yuletide song, less gifts around the tree
Less worry and less hurry, more time for you and me!
Yes, I've seen a lot of Christmases, all the gifts forgotten -- gone
But the sweet tones and affections will ever linger on!
